I'm a doctoral candidate in sociology, currently focusing on how differential uses of the Internet lead to differences in the effects of the Internet on political participation, with side interests in social theory, culture, state power, social network analysis, surveillance, and gender.
This journal, on the rare occasions I update it, consists mostly of descriptions of day-to-day activities that probably aren't of much interest to people who don't know me. I also use it to track my research, talk about school (which I greatly love except when I'm horribly frustrated and passionately hate it), and indulge in the occasional political rant (I'm centre-left by Canadian standards). Essentially, this journal is my alternate memory and virtual soapbox all in one.
If something here captures your interest, feel free to add me as a friend. Introduce yourself if you like--I love learning why people read my journal--but you don't have to. Either way, chances are pretty good that I'll add you back. And if you get bored with the reading and decide to go your own way, I won't hold it against you.
