August 8th is "Sneak Some Zucchini onto your Neighbour's Porch" Night according to All Recipes. Although (because?) I've never grown zucchini, I found that highly amusing
As do I... Is it (speculating here) because zucchini grows at an alarming rate and there is no way on god's green earth that you can eat it all yourself, and inventing a holiday was some's solution to the conundrum? I wish someone would sneak zucchini on my porch but that would be rather difficult as I live in a flat and ergo have no porch to sneak such wonders of the vegetable world onto. :(
