Somewhere, a few weeks ago, I read a great criticism of functionalism that completely clarified for me why it's a problematic approach. I thought at the time that it would be wonderful to use in a paper I'm writing. Now I'm writing and can't remember where I read the argument, or even what it was.

i am in need of a good critique of functionalism myself...that paradigm creeps into my thinking sometimes. It can appear disguised as an irresistible fix now and again. I am not on here much, but since I am at my parents house with little to do but surf the web, play boardgames, and put my feet by the fire, I thought I'd check in on what you've been up to.
