Home for the holidays
Dec. 22nd, 2003 02:40 pmI'm back in the loving embrace of my family for a few days: midnight poker games and hours of quality science fiction viewing and excessive quantities of junk food. And a bathroom that apparently hasn't been cleaned in about six months (my youngest brother justified the black bathtub by pointing out that it was still spotty, rather than the solid black it's been in the past). I went in this morning holding my breath and feeling like I should have been wearing a hazmat suit. I plotted out a marvellous rant about it during the hour I spent cleaning it before I dared have my shower, but I've forgotten it now, so I'll let it go.
Cleaning issues aside, I'm thankful that I actually like my family.

Date: 2003-12-22 12:51 pm (UTC)In all honesty, and as much as I hate to rely on stereotypes, I know very few guys who clean their living space on a regular basis. Certainly none in our family, and apparently not too many in other families if I go by conversations I've had with various women I know. It's also possible that I'm just obsessive about these things, though I don't really see cleaning every week or two as excessive.
