I've got two meetings today. One runs over lunch (11:00-2:30) and one runs over dinner (6:00-8:30). I suppose that works out after a fashion--late lunch followed by a late dinner--but I'd really like to know why people as this university have such a fondness for scheduling things during meal times.

If it were a department event, they would feed us. But tonight's meeting is run by the Graduate Student Union, and I don't think they have enough money to feed everyone. They do offer food after the meeting, but that's because they know most people won't stay.
